My creative process is far from instantaneous: it can take up to 6 months to create a piece. The world of Mauvaizélève is entirely constructed, so a final image is not simply a photographic capture.

Between the emergence of an idea and its realization, long weeks of research are necessary for the appearance of characters, locations, accessories, and the creation of sets (at 1:1 scale or via 1:100 scale models made from recycled cardboard). Once these preparations are complete, the shooting typically lasts between 1 and 3 days, before moving on to retouching and post-production.

Concrete example: For the "Between 4 Walls" series, the first sketches date back to November 2025, the construction of the models spanned from December to March, trials took place in April, shooting in May, to obtain the final retouched images in early June 2026.

While photographic prints remain the core of my work, nothing is entirely out of the question. It all depends on the object that captured your attention and if it survived the demands of the shoot.

Yes. My prints are produced using pigment inks on Fine Art papers by a certified professional.

• For exhibition prints: I use Hahnemühle Baryta FB 315 and Photo Rag Metallic 340 papers.
  
• For Open Editions: I use Hahnemühle Photo Matt Fibre 200 paper.

This manufacturing quality gives the artworks a museum-grade lifespan estimated at 100 years. Additionally, the application of a varnish and special finishes can be offered to further protect the print and optimize its longevity.

To guarantee this longevity, here are the proper display conditions to respect:

• Light: Absolutely avoid exposure to direct sunlight (UV rays) as well as immediate proximity to overly intense halogen light sources.
  
• Humidity and Temperature: Prefer an environment with stable humidity (ideally between 40% and 60% relative humidity) and avoid overly humid rooms (bathrooms) or sudden temperature variations (above a radiator or facing air conditioning).

• Handling: If handled out of their frame, it is strongly advised to wear cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints and skin acidity on the art paper. A pair of Fine Art handling gloves is graciously offered and included in the package upon delivery of your unframed prints.

Yes. All exhibition works and limited edition prints (within the legal limit of 30 copies) are delivered with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, attesting to their edition number and their quality as a work of art.

Occasionally, some collector's items or limited quantity studio prints may also be accompanied by one.

The artworks are initially offered unframed, but I do offer custom finishing options. Most of these finishes are quoted to provide you with the closest possible customization to your expectations and to ensure the artwork integrates perfectly into its future space.

Yes. To make art acquisition easier and allow you to collect with complete peace of mind, the studio offers an art credit program (installment financing).

This option is not automated on the online store. It is exclusively considered on a case-by-case basis, after an email consultation or direct phone call.

To confirm the acquisition and begin production at the studio, an initial payment (by bank card or SEPA transfer) will be required. This initial payment covers all manufacturing costs of the artwork as well as a deposit on the artistic fee. The remaining balance is then spread out over a personalized payment schedule defined together.

Packaging depends on the chosen finish:

• Loose prints: They are delivered rolled and protected with the utmost care to prevent any damage. They are shipped via standard delivery networks, offering great flexibility.
  
• Works with finishes or frames: Several suitable solutions will be offered, ranging from specialized carriers to fine art delivery in wooden crates.

Lead times vary depending on the nature of the order:

• Open Editions: Just a few days.
  
• Exhibition prints with custom finishes: Allow an average of 2 months (the artwork generally leaves the printing and framing workshop after 45 days).

A tracking number will always be provided. For longer processes, you will regularly receive emails to keep you informed of your artwork's progress at the workshop. Note: The best way to obtain an exhibition print immediately is to purchase it directly at my events (exhibitions, festivals, fairs, etc.).

In accordance with European consumer rights directives, you have a legal period of 14 days after receiving your package to change your mind about standardized works (Open Editions).

To make things easier for you, you can exercise your right of withdrawal and cancel your order in a simplified manner by accessing your customer area or via our online cancellation form. Return shipping costs for withdrawal remain your responsibility, and the work must be returned to us in a resalable condition, in its original packaging. A full refund of your order will be issued within a maximum of 14 days after notification of your return.

Please note, legal exception: In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to works made to your specifications or clearly personalized (exhibition prints made exclusively on request, custom framing, special finishes quoted). For these orders, no return or refund is possible once production has begun.

If you have changed your mind about a product eligible for the right of withdrawal, the procedure is as follows:

1. Prepare the package by placing the artwork back in its original packaging (or equivalent packaging offering the same protection) as neatly as possible to ensure its safe transport.
   
2. Contact us or use your customer account. Once your withdrawal request has been registered, we will provide you with all necessary instructions, as well as the return address or an appropriate shipping label to return your package without any hassle.

For large-format personalized artworks requiring special transport arrangements (such as wooden crates or specialized art carriers), returns are not applicable, except in the event of a defect or damage related to transport. If an exceptional return needs to be organized, the logistical arrangements will be studied and handled directly, on a case-by-case basis.

Despite all precautions, an incident can occur. If your package arrives damaged, you can refuse it or make clear reservations with the carrier. Contact me quickly with photos of the package and the product so that we can activate professional insurance and proceed with a replacement or a full refund. Return shipping costs for a damaged product are fully covered by me.

In France, according to article 238 bis AB of the General Tax Code (CGI), companies subject to corporate income tax (IS) or business profits tax (BIC) that purchase original works by living artists can deduct the entire purchase price from their taxable income.

This deduction is made in equal installments over 5 years, i.e., 20% of the value of the work per year, up to a limit of €20,000 or 0.5% of the company's ex-VAT turnover. The only legal obligation is that the work must be exhibited for these 5 years in a place accessible to employees or the public, such as a reception hall, a corridor, or a meeting room. This is a powerful lever to enhance your professional spaces while optimizing your taxation.
