Collection: Between Four Walls
"Between 4 Walls" is a photographic series that pushes introspection to its architectural and spatial paroxysm. By radically zooming out, this project by photographer and visual artist Florian Sanna, aka AbuzOne, encloses the character of Mauvaizélève within 1:100 scale models representing the Institute. It is no longer open society that oppresses—it is the enclosed space, the very structure that traps the body and mind.
Each model is handmade from cardboard, without the use of artificial intelligence. Photographed using focus stacking, these minimalist structures achieve absolute sharpness and a monumental, unsettling physical presence. The lines are straight, the angles strict—and yet, even deep within these closed boxes, resistance organizes itself. The character is not defeated by the framework: he inhabits it, measures it, and seeks out its flaws.
The "Between 4 Walls" series stages the ultimate struggle of the individual against the walls that institutions, the system, or we ourselves, erect around our lives. Claustrophobic yet strangely salvific, this journey orchestrated by Florian Sanna leaves one certainty: walls can contain bodies, but they cannot imprison minds.
